Relationships can bring happiness and a greater sense of choice and control, but did you know that only 3% of people with a learning disability live as a couple, compared to 70% of the general adult population? However, many people with a learning disability want to be in a relationship.

At Advance, we are committed to supporting our customers who want to explore and express their own sexuality, and to engage in personal relationships, and have capacity to consent to this.?? We are a member of the Supported Loving Network, sharing resources and experiences to help us better support our customers.

A policy and guidelines on supporting customers explore and express their own sexuality, and to engage in personal relationships? (where they wish to and have the capacity to choose to) are currently in development?.

For resources and information check out the Supported Loving website? (keep an eye out for the upcoming piece on supporting customers to live together by Housing Office Etana Joynson!) and the Customer Engagement section of the intranet
