March is Data Detox Month

This month we are asking all staff to think about how to secure and reduce their data. Why is this so important?
*our customers need to feel confident that we handle and store their data responsibly?
*to avoid duplication/confusion by having fewer versions of documents saved
*physical and online storage space costs money, so the less we use the better
*if you don’t need it for your role, then don’t save it and remember to delete it
*paper counts too. Remember to shred, archive or recycle where possible and safe to do so
*photos and confidential customer information should not be stored on smartphones as they can be lost, stolen or broken (please refer to the Mobile Device Policy on the intranet).
We all have an important role to play in making sure we are following GDPR rules, as well as Advance's internal policies and procedures. To help remind you what is expected, each week during March we will be focusing on an area of good practice for securing and reducing data.
