Over the past year, customers in Basingstoke have transformed their back yard into a thriving garden. Support Worker, Magdalena Kochmanska described how it all began with flower bulbs being gently put into specially prepared soil (with home-made compost) before vegetables were added. As the garden grew and developed, more customers wanted to learn and get involved.
All of the customers chose the jobs they wanted to do. Magda said "It was overwhelming to see their proud faces when they were pulling their home-grown produce. The whole process of creating a garden gave the customers a huge sense of achievement, the chance to learn new skills and very much contributed to their well-being."
It also provided the house with delicious and organic food and beautiful flowers. Everyone is looking forward to getting back in the garden in 2019!
