Advance Collective meets in Hackney

On Tuesday the Advance Collective got together to talk about their experiences with Advance and this year's Learning Disability Week theme 'Sport and Inclusion'. All our London-based customers were invited.
In the morning we talked about why being active is good for everyone, some of the things that can make that hard and how we can overcome them. Adam led us in a relaxation exercise to teach us a way to feel less anxious when we come up against barriers.
After lunch, we listened as customers told us about the activities they do and the support they get (and want!) to be active. ?People wanted support to find new activities, manage their money to pay for groups and to find people to play sports with.
We also talked about what it means to be included, and why it's important to different people.
We finished off the day with a craft activity where people made some great self portraits!
