Body Image - Mental Health Awareness Week
14/05/2019

The Mental Health Foundation’s research found that last year 30% of all adults have felt so stressed by body image and appearance that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. https://bit.ly/2WI5xgH. There are so many factors which influence the way we feel about ourselves.
We want to turn our focus during Mental Health Awareness Week on positive body image. Not to ignore the issues but to celebrate our differences and how we overcome our insecurities.
Adam (left) the Co-Chair of the Advance Collective said his body has helped him make some great memories. Sal (right) a customer from Hampton Mews in Kidderminster says: "I decided to join the gym and now I can walk to and from slimming world and manage to keep up with my support staff when I am walking. You should love yourself for who you are and be happy in yourself as its takes time. At the end if the day we are all human beings no matter what disability or mental health issues we have."
